Nordic architects visit PARDAIS factory and learn about the latest in granite

Arquitectos nórdicos visitam fábrica PARDAIS e conhecem actualidade em granito

PARDAIS welcomes professionals from the Nordic market to demonstrate advanced technology and excellence in processing its granite, with the support of the Pedra Portuguesa programme.

As part of the programme to promote Portuguese stone, with the support of Compete 2030, Portugal 2030 and the FEDER, ANIET recently organised a technical visit to the PARDAIS granite processing plant for a select group of architects, builders and importers from the Nordic market.

This initiative is part of the ongoing effort to internationalise and enhance the natural stone sector in Portugal, strengthening the presence of national companies in strategic markets such as the Nordic countries.

During the visit to PARDAIS, the participants had the opportunity to learn in detail about the granite processing process, from quarry extraction to final production, highlighting the quality and sophistication of PARDAIS granites.

PARDAIS, a family-run company with over 30 years’ experience, has demonstrated the use of state-of-the-art technology, including multi-wire machines capable of cutting multiple slabs simultaneously, 5-axis CNC lines for high creative and productive flexibility, as well as specialised equipment for various types of finishing.

This meeting allowed professionals from the Nordic market to understand PARDAIS’ technical capabilities in producing granite solutions that combine durability, aesthetics and technological innovation, essential for high-level architectural and construction projects.

The practical demonstration of the technology and advanced processing methods reinforced the image of PARDAIS and Portuguese stone as a noble product, resistant and adaptable to various applications, from flooring and cladding to decorative and monumental elements.

The visit is part of ANIET’s wider strategy to train and promote Portuguese SME in the natural stone sector for internationalisation, focusing on face-to-face actions, international fairs, trade missions and digital campaigns.

The support of Compete 2030 and ERDF funds has been fundamental in leveraging these initiatives, which seek to increase the notoriety and competitiveness of the Portuguese offer in demanding markets with high added value.

This type of action reinforces Portugal’s position as one of the world’s leading players in the production and processing of natural stone, emphasising the importance of technological innovation and quality as differentiating factors in the global market.

PARDAIS, with its continuous commitment to advanced technology and specialised training, strives to be an example of the potential of the national sector to respond to the demands of international markets and contribute to the sustainable growth of the Portuguese economy.
